What is a commercial apprenticeship with AXA like?

At AXA, you will complete your three-year apprenticeship as a commercial employee (EFZ) in the private insurance sector, thus learning about the profession of commercial employees and the world of insurance as a whole. Training starts every year in August.

We offer two different training programs for the apprenticeship as a commercial employee specializing in private insurance (EFZ). We distinguish between an apprenticeship at a general agency and an apprenticeship at one of our regional offices or our Head Office. Information in this regard is provided in the relevant job posting.

Vocational training at a general agency

If you choose the option of an apprenticeship at a general agency, you will be employed at the same agency for the entire three years of your apprenticeship. You will gain firsthand experience of AXA’s insurance business in Switzerland. You will have direct contact with our customers and support them with all their insurance-related questions. If your training office is a general agency, you can complete your apprenticeship in either life insurance or general insurance, also known as non-life insurance. Apprenticeships in the life insurance sector are marked accordingly in the job description with the designation “Pensions and Assets” (Vorsorge und Vermögen - VV). We offer apprenticeships at general agencies throughout Switzerland and in all language regions.

Vocational training at one of our regional offices or our Head Office in Winterthur

If your training company is one of our regional offices in St. Gallen, Bern, Lausanne, or Lugano, or our Head Office in Winterthur, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know various AXA departments during your apprenticeship. During your basic training, you’ll learn, for example, about the Claims and Underwriting departments, or spend six months in the Human Resources or Finance departments.

I feel very comfortable in my commercial apprenticeship at AXA: I gain insights into exciting areas, learn a lot for life, and can develop further in a supportive environment.
