  • When can I terminate and what notice periods apply?

    Possible reasons for termination

    Notice periods

    The corresponding insurance contract and the reason for termination are key.

    In general, the following applies:

    The contract term is decisive. You will find this in your policy (insurance contract). The contract is automatically extended by 1 year unless terminated in writing no later than 3 months prior to expiry. 

    You will also find information about notice periods in the General Insurance Conditions (GIC).

  • What notice period applies when I sell my car or another object covered by property insurance?

    If you replace an insured object, such as your vehicle, we would of course be happy to continue to insure you. In this case, the annual premium already paid will be credited to the new policy. However, you can also terminate the current policy.

    Example: You sell your car on March 18. In this case, you can terminate the contract as of March 18 and we will reimburse you the proportion of the annual premium already paid. Simply enter “Insured object sold” as the reason for termination.

  • What do I need to do to switch to AXA?

  • Where can I find an independent advisory body outside of AXA?

    If anything is unclear in general, you can also contact the Swiss Ombudsman of Private Insurance and of Suva in its capacity as a neutral arbitration body.
