Interest on 2025 retirement assets
For 2025, insureds’ retirement assets will earn a rate of interest of:

• OPA mandatory benefits 1.5%
• Extra-mandatory benefits 2.25%

The Board of Trustees of Columna Collective Foundation Group Invest is aware of the importance of attractive interest rates for insureds. It has based its decision on the Foundation’s established interest rate model. With this year’s interest rate decision, the Board of Trustees is pursuing the strategic goal of gradually building up value fluctuation reserves in order to ensure stability and a sustainably reliable interest rate for the future. To achieve this, the Board of Trustees has also decided to adjust the investment strategy and increase the equity component in order to further improve the Foundation’s investment performance.

New investment strategy from January 1, 2026
The Board of Trustees reviewed the foundation’s investment strategy and risk capacity during 2025. Given the favorable financial and structural situation, it has decided to place greater emphasis on return-oriented asset classes in future. The investment strategy will therefore be adjusted with effect from January 1, 2026. The most important changes are as follows:

• Increase in the equity allocation from 30% to 35%
• Reduction of the bond allocation from 28% to 25%

The foundation is maintaining its differentiated sub-strategies for the mandatory and extra-mandatory components. While the focus in the mandatory component remains on security, it is increasingly focusing on return-oriented investments in the extra-mandatory component, with a total equity allocation of 43%. The Board of Trustees is thus pursuing the goal of achieving higher returns in the long term and thus higher interest rates for the benefit of the insureds. The new investment regulations will be available in the download area from January 2026.

New as of 2026: Individualized order of beneficiaries for lump-sum death benefits
The Board of Trustees is committed to state-of-the-art occupational benefits provision that takes account of the individual needs of its insureds. From January 1, 2026, insureds will thus be able to individually adapt the order of beneficiaries for lump-sum death benefits that is stipulated in the regulations in line with their own personal needs. This will allow insureds to determine themselves in future exactly who is to receive what specific portion of lump-sum death benefits. The occupational benefits fund regulations will therefore be amended with effect from January 1, 2026.

Changes in personnel on the Board of Trustees
The current Chair and long-standing member of the Board of Trustees, Giuseppe Costa, is stepping down from the Board of Trustees on July 31, 2025, due to a change of job. He will be succeeded as a member of the Board of Trustees by Bruno Feusi, who will join the Board of Trustees on August 1, 2025. Angela Hagemann, a long-standing member of the Board of Trustees, will take over as Chair on August 1, 2025. She has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2019 and is therefore very familiar with the matters of the Foundation.

Civil partnerships do not need to be reported
Previously, couples living together had to notify their pension fund if they wanted to provide their partner with a pension in the event of death. This advance notification is no longer necessary for collective foundations managed by AXA. The current pension fund regulations do not require notification. For this reason, the “Confirmation of civil partnership” notification form has been removed. Whether the partner is entitled to draw pension benefits is only assessed at the time of the insured’s death. Further information on civil partnerships can be found in the Foundation’s Regulations.
