No. The payments made to your SmartFlex 3a pension plan do not need to be rounded (e.g., you could pay in CHF 85.95). However, individual payments must be at least CHF 20.
Each time you are due a reimbursement you can decide how much to transfer to your Pillar 3a plan. You have to confirm how you want the amount allocated on each occasion. If you change your mind, you can cancel the process and correct the amount.
As a general rule, the money paid into a Pillar 3a restricted retirement plan can be paid out at the earliest five years before you reach the statutory OASI reference age (formerly: normal retirement age) of 65 for both men and women. In a similar way to what is possible in occupational benefits insurance, the pension capital paid into Pillar 3a can be withdrawn early. This is possible if you become self-employed, for example, or relocate abroad, or if buy your own home.
It is not possible to pay too much into your SmartFlex pension plan with AXA. This is because we check whether you have reached the maximum amount before every payment into your SmartFlex plan. If the additional payment is too high, we top up your AXA Pillar 3a plan until it reaches the maximum amount. We then either transfer the remainder to your private account or use it for future premiums – whichever you prefer.
Important: We cannot view payments into any Pillar 3 plans you may hold with other providers. If you split your payments between different Pillar 3a products, you yourself will need to ensure you do not exceed the maximum contribution.
Specific terms and conditions apply to newborns. You can find out about these in the article “Supplementary insurance for children”.
Supplementary health insurance products close many gaps in basic insurance, for example, with financial contributions toward glasses and contact lenses, gym memberships, or complementary medicine.
An additional advantage is that, whereas basic health insurance does not allow you a free choice of hospital or doctor, with supplementary hospital insurance you can tailor your hospital benefits to suit your needs.
