Directors' and officers' liability insurance

If you carry out an activity based on trust, you must be able to justify your deeds before the law. If as a managing director or Board member you make a wrong decision, or commit a breach of duty, you are liable with your personal assets. Choose insurance coverage tailored to your needs from our specialized directors' and officers' liability insurance options.

D&O insurance (Directors' & officers' liability insurance)

If worst comes to worst, you are not entirely alone in your role as a decision-maker. As a group insurance, D&O insurance covers all the governing bodies in your company and subsidiaries in the following functions and activities:

  • Board of Directors of a stock corporation
  • Board members of cooperatives
  • Managing directors of a limited liability company (GmbH)
  • Management board of associations
  • Members of Board of Trustees
  • Executive Board and Senior Management
  • Members of internal audit units
  • Employees who exercise a de facto governing function
  • Founders of a legal entity

D&O and professional liability insurance for occupational benefits institutions (OBI)

In the tense environment of occupational benefits insurance, the tasks of decision-makers of occupational benefits institutions are becoming more and more demanding. The combined D&O and professional liability insurance for occupational benefits institutions and their governing bodies offers comprehensive insurance coverage for liability claims with its coverage extension for occupational benefits institutions.

Liability insurance for delegated directors and officers

The tasks of municipalities, cities and cantons are complex. Hence municipalities, for example, outsource tasks to legal entities. In order to represent their interests and influence the service providers, the members of public authorities are delegated to these companies. The public authority representatives thereby fulfill a governing function and are subject to liability claims. Liability insurance for delegated directors and officers covers these consequences on a needs basis.

Premium - individual

As an individual in a governing function, you enjoy comprehensive risk coverage with substantial premium-free supplementary coverage for a pre-defined amount of insurance. Whether you execute a management or non-management governing function is irrelevant.

Liability insurance for directors and officers of legal entities in addition to professional liability insurance

Leading or managing a stock corporation, foundation or another legal entity is a responsible task. Extend your professional liability insurance with directors' and officers' liability insurance to enjoy optimal protection against the financial consequences of liability risks. The individual director or officer of a legal entity is insured in their capacity or function as

  • Member of board of directors of stock corporations
  • Board member of cooperatives
  • Managing director or partner in a limited liability company (GmbH)
  • Member of the board of an association
  • Member of Board of Trustees
  • Liquidator of a legal entity
  • Managing director in the context of residence requirements pursuant to the SCO and other similar functions
