For which professions does AXA offer apprenticeships?
AXA Switzerland offers vocational training in the following professions:
Sports apprenticeship at AXA
Are you a competitive athlete who wants to pursue vocational training alongside your sports ambitions? Then come to AXA. We offer sports talents vocational training that is optimally suited to the needs of competitive athletes. We work together with sports schools in our area.
How do you apply for a sports apprenticeship?
If you are interested in a sports apprenticeship, we recommend the following process:
Step 1: Apply to a suitable sports school.
Step 2: Once you have been accepted by the sports school, you can register with AXA. To do so, contact a vocational trainer in the region where your sports school is located.
In cooperation with the sports school, we will coordinate your working and training hours as well as inter-company courses to best suit your sports schedule. This way, you can combine your apprenticeship with competitive sports!

Taster and information events
Informational events
At our information afternoons, we will introduce you to our apprenticeship professions and you will learn how an apprenticeship at AXA works. You will have the opportunity to get to know the relevant vocational trainers and ask our current apprentices any questions you may have. We offer these information events in Winterthur, Bern, and St. Gallen. They take place on selected Wednesday afternoons during the spring semester and are advertised on Yousty in February.

Taster days
Throughout Switzerland, you have the opportunity to complete an individual trial commercial apprenticeship at our general agencies. To do so, please contact a general agency near you directly. At our head office in Winterthur, we also offer several taster days for all basic training programs. These taster days are held in groups of several taster apprentices. They take place during the spring semester and are advertised on Yousty in February.

What benefits does AXA offer you?
How many vacation days do you get?
You are entitled to six weeks of vacation each year of your apprenticeship.
How much will you earn?
Your salary will increase with each year of your apprenticeship.
You will receive the following monthly salary:
- 1st year: CHF 800
- 2nd year: CHF 1,000
- 3rd year: CHF 1,600
- 4th year: CHF 1,800
What support will you receive for your workplace?
- So that you can also work from home in exceptional circumstances, you receive an annual smart working allowance of CHF 200. You can use this allowance to improve your home office, for example to purchase an additional monitor, an ergonomic keyboard, or a mouse.
- Since many schools have introduced bring-your-own-device policies, we support you with a lump sum of CHF 1,500 so that you can purchase a laptop for school.
Subsidy for your commute by public transportation:
- AXA will reimburse you annually for your half-fare subscription in the form of a Reka-Rail credit.
- On top of this: Once a year, you can deposit CHF 800 into your Reka account and in return you will receive a credit of CHF 1,000 on your Reka card. This allows you to finance your public transportation subscription, for example.
We support your education and further training
- Would you like to spend an extended time abroad during your apprenticeship to improve your language skills in a language that is relevant to the qualification process? We will reimburse you for part of the costs, and up to 15 days will count as working days.
- Would you like to take the certificate exam in a language that is relevant to the qualification process ? We’ll be glad to support you.
- Are you having trouble studying and need tutoring? We will pay a share of the costs for tutoring.
Other information
- Once a year, you will receive Swibeco credit that you can redeem on the Swibeco platform in the form of various vouchers.
- Yoga, a concert, or perhaps a massage? AXA offers you various discounts on sports and cultural events.
- During your apprenticeship at AXA, you will spend several project days outside our offices with your fellow trainees.
Individual support
We provide you with comprehensive support during your training at AXA. After all, ensuring a successful start to your career is very important to us. Our goal is to prepare you as well as possible for embarking on your professional journey and to be there for you every step of the way, actively supporting you so that you can develop your individual strengths in a targeted manner.
How can you apply?
Sound interesting? On our jobs platform you will find our apprenticeship openings. Apprenticeship positions for the following year are advertised on July 1.
- Submit your complete application to us online.
- We will review your documents. If your application impresses us, we will invite you to visit us.
- We would like to get to know you better in a personal interview and also introduce you to AXA and the profession you have applied for.
- We will then discuss your application internally and send you our decision.
- If you receive a confirmation from us and you have also decided to join us, you will sign the apprenticeship contract together with your parents/legal guardians.
- You will then start your apprenticeship at AXA in the summer!
What should your application include?
Your application consists of the following documents:
- Complete resume – include your hobbies and any trial apprenticeships you have completed.
- Copies of your secondary school/cantonal school certificates.
- Copies of other diplomas and confirmation letters (e.g. language certificates, training courses).
- The result of the multi-check (German).
Make sure that your documents are complete and free of errors before you submit them to us.

Job interview
With an invitation to an interview or an assessment you have crossed the first hurdle: We were impressed by your application documents! We’d now like to get to know you personally and find out if you are a good fit for AXA and the apprenticeship. The interview gives you an impression of your future activities. You will also get to know potential colleagues and your vocational trainers. Just a few days after the assessment, we will inform you if you have been successful. In this case – and if you are still interested – we will sign the apprenticeship contract together.
Tips
- Arrive punctually and well prepared for the interview – first impressions matter!
- Find out about AXA and the job profile (e.g. from career advice at your local career information center).
- Consider carefully why this apprenticeship in particular is ideal for you.
- Take part in one of our information events or a trial apprenticeship for school students. You will learn lots of useful information and get to know some of our apprentice supervisors.
After your apprenticeship
The majority of our graduates receive a job offer from AXA and decide to stay with us for a longer period of time. We are proud that many of our apprentices continue their professional careers with us and develop further at AXA.
We can say the following about all of our apprentices who have started EFZ or EBA training with us in recent years:
- Over 90% started a job at AXA after their apprenticeship.
- 97% of our apprentices successfully completed their training.
- The average final grade of our apprentices was 4.9.
