Training for newcomers to our industry

For newcomers to our industry, a series of options are available at the AXA Sales Academy for entry into the world of insurance. For example, you can receive training as an insurance advisor or pension advisor.

Enthusiasm, goal-orientation, reliability: These are just some of the qualities that characterize our sales talents. AXA turns newcomers to the industry into such talents through training at its own AXA Sales Academy. In parallel to your training, your line managers prepare you carefully for your field of activity. Hence, you can quickly put your newly acquired knowledge into practice.

The AXA Sales Academy offers two basic in-house training programs: a 5-month course as insurance advisor and a 9-month course as pension advisor. After this basic training, various internal and external career opportunities are available to you:

  • In-house training as insurance broker VBV (Insurance Industry Vocational Training Association) at the AXA Sales Academy
  • In-house training as specialist at the AXA Sales Academy
  • External training as insurance specialist with federal certificate (co-payment with AXA possible)
  • Access to a higher educational institution

You are already an insurance professional or you have a sound knowledge of the industry from earlier activity. Now you are considering a change to AXA, the market leader in Switzerland. We’d like to get to know you and to welcome you to our company. Together, we’ll look at the skills you already have and those we can develop further. We will tailor your further training and development to your existing knowledge and goals. During this made-to-measure training, you will get to know AXA's products and will receive a step-by-step induction into your new field of activity.

At AXA every employee has the opportunity to develop their skills – and that includes the sales force. That's because our career model encompasses both management and specialist careers.

At many insurance companies, a job in the sales force offers no prospects of a career progression. At AXA this is different. Here, everyone has the opportunity to progress their career.

These are the career steps available in the sales force:

  • Insurance or pension advisor
    You develop your specialist skills within a flexible system. As well as promotion to sales manager, agent or general agent, a move into distribution management at AXA is also possible.
  • Sales manager
    Alongside your activity as a customer advisor, you gather management experience. You look after a team of 5 - 10 advisors, induct new staff, and support them in their career progression.
  • Agent
    You lead your own agency independently with a team of 5 - 10 insurance advisors. You manage your own customer portfolio, organize the work of the agency, and are responsible for its financial success.
  • General agent
    You are an entrepreneur and bear the responsibility for the profitability and growth of your general agency. Alongside approx. 30 internal and sales force employees of your general agency, you are head of 5 - 10 agencies in your sales region. You also manage your own small portfolio of important customers. You recruit new employees and support them in their professional development.
